Behind the Writing
“I heard this song “Santiano” 8 years ago in my French class, and the tune stuck with me since. A revisit to this song last year led me to a sick cover of this song by a band of the same name — and carrying all the heart and soul you would find sailing in the world of One Piece. I thought, “Yeah, this is definitely a shanty the Straw Hat crew would sing,” except maybe each crewmate would sing their own verse.
